The engine goes back in the car. The car goes back on the road. The road stays exactly where it is.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I worked really hard on this video and I'm pretty proud. Please enjoy it. Also hey I started a Patreon a while back but haven't really said anything about it. Since I upload so sporatically, I have it set to every upload instead of a monthly thing, also only for my bigger videos (not short ones like my saturday projects). Please don't feel oblogated to support my projects/channel, but know that it would be truly appreciated. Okay thank you I love you bye www.patreon.com/ronaldfinger
Hi how are you doing how much is 100 bucks in Guyana dollars I rally love ❤ you vids I am a heack of a fan for u send me 1000 bucks and I gave u a brand new bugatti Chiron
Loving this series. One suggestion, invest in some impact sockets for your driver. Chromium ones work fine, until one shatters in your face
7:05 to 7:30 haha! Great man. Love your blunt, observational sense of humor.
I’ve invested hours today watching from the first video.. where are the last episodes? 😅
@ronald, wheres the part 8 &9 bro
Part 7, "3 more episodes to be precise" Episode 14 released 2/27
Why go through all the hassle on the exhaust when it seems like the Fiero Store just fucked up and sent you bad quality stuff?
This is the first video segment where I have left a comment. I am blown away by your focus, energy, desire to learn new skills, work ethic, and strive for perfection. These character traits are quite scarce with many young people today. I grew up fixing up older cars when I was young, and those experiences have reaped huge dividends. I built my first engine, a VW, at age 21. I also have tried to pass this same mechanical passion to my two sons. I totally understand your selection of this vehicle. It is not only totally cool and sporty, but you will be the only one of a potential few others in Houston driving a Fiero. By the way, my experience with the "Iron Duke" came in 1988 when I purchased a used 1976 Mark Twain tri-hull boat with an OMC inboard/outboard mated up to the Iron Duke. Mine had a cracked head, but once repaired it ran great.
I was nervous when you had your face up close to the control arm and the coil spring when both were under tension.
The first time it ran rough and hesitated on throttle input in the last video: me “fuel pressure”. Sadly there’s no time machines to make that knowledge useful. You got there though and replaced some extra bits too, good work.
Does anyone know the name of the track that starts at 1:20 ?
@dgsnoopy thanks
Finally found it dude. It's ELFL - eyes to see it
Looking for it too. Lemme know if u find it
Nice rotary bro
Lol at 3 episodes later
10/10 such an amazing episode. After doing my first engine rebuild, I understand exactly how hard this is and with documenting it and editing everything... this is outstanding. Way to commit. Pontiac’s forever!
FIERILIKIIIIIIIII
Powder coat paint and an oven!
Hey, love your series. How about putting some grease fitting caps on the fittings?
A paint job and some leds and its solid.
WooHoo!....great group of videos! I've had an "84" SE4, a (crashed, but great) "86" SE4, (got it for FREE), and now I have a wonderful "86" SE6.... I obviously love Fieros and really appreciate your awesome efforts and success at showing us All, how to do so many crazy things on this GREAT old car!!! I will alwa
31:30 - I have a sudden urge to watch terminator 2
If you watch Part 1 of my series on my 1986 Fiero GT, I experienced the same popping noise, that you experienced from the pin hole gas tank leak, I've bought everything new, all the lines, all the seals, all the injectors, every fuel component, even the stuff that goes inside the fuel tank, like the fuel pump and sending unit..... I'm about to be even more pissed off then you, if it ends up being the actual tank... (Which the previous owner told me they had professionally repaired)... Hey if it's none of those, at least now I'll know what the problem is....
You missed an opportunity to play a sound byte of the terminator 2 theme at 31:31 lol
You are what America is made of. Anybody can do it when you are willing to do it with a heart.
Wow what an amazing sound 34:14
30:34 It sounds like it’s cammed 😂
WHAT??? You mean that something you bought from something called "The Fiero Store" was shit?
Ronnie I suggest using ear cotton swabs to do touch up paint, not the small brush you used, the ear swab gives the touch up a more spray painted look instead of an obvious touch up spot, I'll be using it when I touch up some things on my 86 Fiero GT that I'm rebuilding, and starting a video series on
Damn those gas tanks
I am just here taking notes on story telling.
Glad to see another Houstonian youtuber, I really need to start my mechanic/rebuild channel, I've done like 15 cars already, really need to make an effort to film it all.
There was so much variety in 80s cars. Today's autos BORE me.
I love your car it’s cool then the 2003 Lincoln Navigator
Hey Ron, what did you do to clean the axles up so well?
Why oh why did you not send that junk "OEM replacement" exhaust system back when it didn't fit and get yourself a nice aftermarket system!? Love your videos though I have been watching these considering buying one lol
We must pray for our lord and savior angel_fiero
i love how pro youve gotten with putting the gas tank in
I think everyone should pause here and go watch engine bay cleaning here: mnthe.info/bill/video/sqZwyX6VoYZqnZA
Alright, It's official, I hate you. do you want to know why I hate you? Because you have made me actually like Fiero's. I was happy in my bigoted anti-fiero world, buuuut nooo. You had to come along and show me that Fiero lives matter. . . You jerk!
oh corona, how you are about to hit
Is anybody keeping track of all the red parts hes using? Tryna keep up with all the horsepower its gonna have.
@bruh moment looks like its near 500 hp now how far we are
Red car +100 hp Red bushings +10 Red funnel +5 Looks like some red cap in there +2 Red grease +1 Idk what Im doing anymore
Just remember kiddo car like this becomes a labor of love it also comes at time-consuming job don't forget the people around you if you have a girlfriend do not neglect her because that's how you lose them make sure you make time for them to and don't forget your schooling take it from an old-timer who did the same things that you did and I had several cars that done the same thing everything from a 63 Ford Fairlane 500 till I 65 Malibu convertible 70 Nova 69 Chevelle 67 GTO 66 GTO convertible 69 LeMans I have a 71 Chevelle tell me some of the cars that I've had I put a lot of time and effort into them and believe you me a lot of money don't let it get crazy because it can become very crazy
Dude, you’re such an awesome MNther/mechanic enthusiast/person! I just wish the best for ya! What a nice content.
I just replaced the trailing arm bushings in my 10 year old Volkswagen and can say that no.... being newer does not make it easier. It still sucks.
Imagine this car if it's a sleeper
at 25.51 ......MADE IN CHINA.are you freaking serious dude........I would have never put CHINESE parts on any of my cars haha..........and im in ASIA for gods sakes.....just my .02
see, we know you are lying, cause there is no such thing as an extra 10mm socket
it‘s amazing to see how you have grown as a person over the time
34:05 Name of this song?
For anyone wondering what’s the song at the end - it’s herbal tea by Artificial.music
Man, watching this project is so so delightful, you are true Man with the plan :)
Who else is rewatching the whole series
Please tell me that at sometime along the way, you replaced that O2 Sensor.
I bet you he ends up using that 10mm tube wrench all the time.
Lookin good!.....errr, driving good
0:02 of part 7 oh dont mind me im leaving a bookmark to continue later i watched from pt1-7 i really need some rest
Rest well, friend
Isn't that an iron duke engine that catches on fire
“If it worked in the past , it is practically impossible for a it to be unfixable. As there is always a substitute for what is broken. This pretty much applies to everything electrical and mechanical” - Me
Whats the song in the end?
What is with exhaust systems, I brought one for my Honda and yea it didn't fit great and didn't come with exhaust brackets. How is it that difficult for manufacturers to sell the correct exhaust for your car. Lol
"After giving my windshield a wash, I gave it a nice coat of high heat paint, just to freshen it up a little."
Two of my favorite things in one video: a badass Fiero and Buc-ee’s!
Song name that played when the car was driving
Recently bought an 82 Supra and the goddamn fuel tank is a nightmare for those, too. Ended up buying an equally rusted one but I just cleaned it out the best I could. Hoping it was enough--haven't gotten to install it to find out yet.
@Ronald Finger Four month later update: the tank I bought and cleaned leaked gasoline through the middle seam if you filled it up past half. Went back to the original tank and found it had a huge puncture hole in it. Used some JB Weld Steelstik, nuked it with toilet bowl cleaner, then sealed the entire thing with two cans of Red Kote. I've yet to put it back in but if this doesn't work, I'm not sure what else there is to do lol. Also, yes, I'm rewatching this series because it's so good and means a lot more to me now that I'm months into working on my first project car.
I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you
BUCCEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE GREATEST PLACE ON EARTH! TIME FOR BEAVER NUGGETS!
I just came back from houston the other day and went to that buccee's!
Thanks for mailing out the autographed glossy 8x10 Ronald!
RONALD....yOU ARE A FUCKING GENIUS. IF I EVER NEED A CAR TO BE RESTORED.....i WILL HIRE YOU. EXCELLENT JOB!!!
33:59 are you?? marty mcfly??
I like your work. I owned a Fiero GT for a short period of time, too, but in Germany, it was quite an exotic car. I owned the 1987 version with the 2.8 liter (173ci) V6. Due to a stupid driver error, i wrecked it, and had to let go.
Great job! #respect
good news you are now a gas tank collector 😂
Nice work. I had an '85 2M4 SE, replaced the clutch in my driveway in Ottawa, Canada in January, did rings and bearings a few years later, every ball joint, loved that car anyway. :) Watch out for ECM issues. Engine cranks, gives fuel, gives spark, but won't start - until you push-start the car! Don't hack your wiring harness to do this, cut open an old TPS or MAP sensor (both on the 5V ECM bus) and read your 5V line to ground while you crank the engine. If it drops below 5V even a millisecond because of the starter, the computer will reset probably with every compression stroke loading the starter. It still tries to fire the plugs, but it gets the timing off enough that it gave me an intermittent no-start. Get an electronics guy to change all the electrolytic capacitors in the ECM. Capacitors go bad the same way rubber parts die - temperature extremes accelerate aging. www.avnet.com/wps/portal/abacus/resources/article/understanding-esr-in-electrolytic-capacitors/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague (GM's electronics never had the "Capacitor Plague" as described above; the failures are the same but are caused by simple age.) My background is electronics. I'm sure a lot of EFI vehicles get scrapped because of a $0.50 capacitor going bad. I hope this helps someone preserve a beautiful car.
I admire the patience lol
Angel fiero follows me on Instagram and I was very surprised but then I almost got to buy a fiero but then the owners sold it out from under us :(
Victory...
This guy looks like old pewdiepie
Respect
gas gas gas hes gonna step on the gas
why u say fuck ronald
Please don’t use an impact with chrome sockets unless they are rated for impact guns 😳. They can shatter and hurt you very bad.
Your parents must be very proud of the man that you are.
Nice gaz tank collection.
Nice! I wouldn't even know where to begin. Hats off to you.
man way to go!
AMAZING skills by this young man but I'll never understand not improving stuff (like exhaust and suspension) while you are rebuilding it since you are right there, LOL. The Fiero had huge weak spots and I am sure some of them could have been rectified during the rebuild. Why the seeming over-dedication to keeping it bone stocK??
I'll give it a like cuz u said Noice 😁
This series is one of MNthe's hidden gems. Dedication. Ingenuity. Positivity. Sincerity. Some of the best deadpan humor I've ever seen. It's all here. And those first shots of it rolling down the street! *chef kiss* Really wonderful. Time for me to get back to my project car. Thanks for the inspiration.
i just love watching this project progress, even though i'm always late with watching the episodes i thoroughly enjoy them.
Nothing ever just bolts together when it comes to exhaust work
well done
That pinhole gas tank was highway robbery.
That exhaust system they sent you was highway robbery.
I came to the comments to see if you were getting roasted by the usual internet "mechanics" or "perfectionists" but everybody is so on board and positive its great ! Good job man so glad to see her get started
Did anyone else see she had no bra on and the jumping was a nice addition.
mineral spirits
I really like your video because you have included all trial and errors. Really helps and really interesting. Thanks!
I'm so glad I live in a state with no emissions or car checking at all. If the damn thing runs, you are good
I am a former texas resident... and man do i miss bucees! Love the bucees cameo at the end! Best gas station. ever. Also, cool video series so far.
Good job 👍👏
That Buckies though
The worst part about this series is not seeing all the extra restoration work skipped with magic claps
This video put such a smile on my face!
i think that you can paint wheels with color titanium. like as blue subaru with titanium wheels. but better get rally or rpf1 lightest wheels but have color titanium.. it will be cool..
A grinder and paint make me the welder I ain't
