  • Pretty neat. Could swap out the suction cups with recessed magnets. How did you paint the top of the letters so nicely without getting it into the recesses for the letters? Also FYI you can do letters directly in SolidWorks.

  • You know you can tell that they are clean if you just look for clean rinse water on the dishes that catch & hold water, right?

  • I haven't seen very many of your old Videos, and this is really cool. I hope someday I figure out the cad software and 3d printing like you have, There are many things I would like to make! We have a CNC plasma table for cutting metal, and i am not great yet at making the dxf files for it, but i made some hinges for my gate on my property, and was pretty proud of how they turned out. Maybe there is hope for us all!

  • This is awesome, don't get me wrong, but it hurts my graphic design heart a little. Never stretch type, damn it. Just find a condensed typeface.

  • ProTip: If the suction cups lose their suction and fall off, clean them well, clean the surface they will be attached too. Then hit each cup with a little bit of hair spray and smear it around then attach. The hair spray will act like glue, but will not hurt anything.

    • This is exactly the idea I needed to help hold the suction cup on my shower mirror/speaker to the tile wall... the damned thing will not stay on the wall for more than a few minutes. Thank you!

  • 1. very cool shit that you just made something like this 2. why would you ever leave the clean dishes inside? i feel like the problem shouldn't exist in the first place :D 3. did you consider using a magnet instead of suction cups?

    • sorry, but stainless works just fine with magnets. Who started that anyway?

    • 1. 😎 2. This wasn’t made to solve a single scenario issue. There are a variety cases where it could be helpful for different reasons for different people. One possible scenario could be that it’s set to clean as soon as it’s turned on, that way if another person living in the house were to come across it after it’s finished, they would know to go ahead and empty it when they otherwise might not think to check. 3. Magnets aren’t attracted to stainless steel, so that wouldn’t work! I could’ve used two adhesive magnetic strips, one on the sign and one on the dishwasher, but I didn’t want to deal with any residue left behind if it had to be moved for any reason.

  • This makes me so... happy. It's so simple and seemingly unnecessary, but makes life just a little bit easier. It's always fun to be creative, solve problems, and make new things! Great work. 👍👍

    • Hey thanks man! Right back at you, just subbed to you as well. You’ve got some great stuff. But I’m actually studying Industrial Design! But I have been 3D modeling since I was 11, working on cars and motorcycles since I was 13, and took engineering classes in high school, so quite a diverse background haha
