Thank you so very much for everyone that I asked questions! I'm sorry if I didn't answer yours. Also, I have learned two very important things while making this video: 1) I watch more MNthe than I thought. I have even more channels that I recommend checking out in the description. 2) I need to invest in a lav mic because holy crap this audio is straight garbage. I'm sincerely sorry about all of the wind, flies, cars, and everything else. Oh, hey if you want to vote for the Fiero for the International Quarantine Car Show, I have it linked in the description as well! Voting ends tomorrow (May 2nd)
Hey Ronnie. Will you take the car on a Texas your. Dallas, San Antonio, Houston. Maybe Shreveport?
Can we get mo power babe??!
@Cole Rippeon Unless he swaps out for a more powerful engine, that 90 hp four is in no danger of overpowering the base wheel and tire combination. Putting superwide wheels and tires on such a low powered car would actual harm the car's handling, not enhance it. That extra wheel size and extra rubber puts more stress on shocks and control arms. Look at the BMW 2002. Despite a modest 130 hp in the top model and rather small wheels and tires, it was considered one of the best handling cars of all time. Not only are larger wheels and tires a poor choice for cars with limited power, they also cost more to replace, create added weight and stress on the drivetrain, steering, and suspension, but also reduce fuel economy and require more energy to put into motion. Bigger isn't always better.
@Dylan Willey front and rear bumpers were model specific, not by year. Except for appearance, suspension changes, the Fiero remained mostly unchanged during its four year production run.
Ronald Finger Will you ever Kalab with someone
I'm a big fan of fieros I haved 6 in puerto Rico after watching your's videos I thing people will going to looking for fieros restored by the way it's a classic now and the value start rise up now everywhere love you videos. Sorry for my english
I came for the odd editing at the beginning of the fiero build and stayed for the fiero.
A friend had a Fiero and it kept leaking oil pretty bad. They were car savvy and when taking it to a shop, they found that the engine mount had gotten weak. This cause engine to rock as it shifted, oil filter rubbed on something and had a hole in filter. I wonder if that was cause of some of the Fiero engine fires.
Fiero plastic fantastic
PLEASE PLEASE LOWER THIS CAR
Try Rich Rebuilds!!!
1:45 Houston we have a problem... XD
I've seen all the episodes, except this one. Not sure why I waited to long to watch.(Dec 2020)
Are you related to the late Bill Finger, co-creator of Batman?
Should have known you'd be into Bad Obsession. BOM is as good as it gets in my opinion.
Noooo, Hoover doesn't deserve that kind of oversimplified treatment just like the new deal wasn't a magic depression-ending wand! Love the series, keep it up!
I don't say this to many dudes, but you have a nice ass.
Love your projects and vids but Dude! You need to do some more research on Hoover and the Great Depression. The real answer is that the government's reaction to help prevent and recover from the many previous depressions in American history, was to implement the Federal Reserve in 1913. Mind you it usually took 9-18 months for an unregulated American economy to recover from ALL previous depressions. The first chance the Federal Reserve had to strut their stuff and show us how great they and their ideas were was the crash in 1929. They effed it up soooooooooooooo bad that it took eleven years and a WORLD WAR to get out of the hole. Thanks for nothing, government and Federal Reserve.
15:29 watch the ad and youtube slaps 2 non skippable ads
Your videos and the writing is amazing I love the structure
"Watch the ads in front of them" * ad immediately plays * * ad is 4 and a half minutes long * * sorry, nope *
I was 19 when the Fiero came out. God did I want one. Instead I got married and had kids. Then I did it again with someone else. Now they are too much trouble. I NEVER GET NOTHIN'. :-(
I actually have a 86 fiero that I’ve been working on it mainly trying to fix headliner, side “glass” exterior panels, and the trunk switch isn’t working. I can’t wait to see all the videos on it I wish I had more time, knowledge of cars and confidence to test things to do things like cleaning every inch of the interior
ooo... 13 and working. That would be against Federal child labor laws.
Mr. Finger, I am curious to know if you are a fan of Syd mead?
@Ronald Finger Sorry for responding off topic, I think I got a bit anxious and looked inward instead of reflecting on your response and responding to it directly. It is unbelievable that you know someone who was in Syd Mead's orbit. For me Syd mead and Carl Sagan are 2 people i wish I could have met because of their foresight and optimism amongst other characteristics. Considering the echoes of Syd's impact in film and design I'm surprised he is not more well known and spoken of. Cheers
@Ronald Finger Thank you for the quick response! I appreciate you including us all on your journey. I have been doing the same thing on my channel with a 1984 GTI amongst other terrible cars in my fleet, but with vastly worse video documentation skills. I very much appreciate the time and effort you have put in to create and document the process, A friend (who has since past) and I filmed this, may make you smile mnthe.info/bill/video/hMyamJ_EpqGFgHg Cheers and please don't burn out!
Absolutely. Syd Mead is one of my favorite artists/designers. My professor at school was actually a friend of his. I never got to meet him before he passed, unfortunately.
15:25 isn't fonny ringer just a slight anagram of ronny finger?? lmao
Thank you for your dedication to quality in everything you do. As a 64 year old man, I can say thank you for teaching me so many interesting things. Keep it up my friend!
Man, you are just about the sharpest tac in the box kid. You have a bright future ahead of you whatever the profession. Your parents should be very proud. 👍
Missed the Q&A but I have one. SolidWorks/Fusion/Rhino/Max ... what would you choose?
@Ronald Finger About the Fiero. I think you should consider to add some spacers for adding wider tyres. And maybe buildind some custom fenders for it. Like Abarth 131 style. Little sportier, little wider... maybe. And one more suggestion, if you're able to, try some thermoforming stuff. I beileve this car is very appropriate for it. Little vents here and there for better cooling. Of course, it's your car. I've a similar dream for a different car that I wanna build some day. Lastly, if you're gonna use laser cutter or cnc, try Corel. Corel is the most compatible software for that. It's not we usually trained with but if you know Adobe Illustrator, you know, you can easily convert it to a Corel file.
Alperen Tunçeli ahh okay! To an extent, your professors are exactly right. When designing for manufacturing, NURBS is absolutely the way to go. When you’re sending off your designs to get quotes from manufacturers, you’re more than likely going to be asked to send a Solidworks file since it is the industry standard. For that purpose, I highly recommend learning and being proficient in that style of modeling. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t use mesh programs for making a lot of really quick models/renders to show clients different iterations. There’s an Industrial Designer named Chipp Walters who swears by blender. He actually has a great MNthe channel full of tutorials! Modeling in blender is so great because things don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to worry about the scrutiny that goes into NURBS modeling. It’s a great tool for the next step after sketching, where the form could still be very emotive and stylized, but able to be rendered beautifully or in context. Basically, for quick but quality iterations, mesh is great. For final designs that are ready to be manufactured, NURBS all the way.
@Ronald Finger well... there's a need of rephrasing I think. MESH or NURB what I want to ask actually. I'm an ID too. But what I'm curious about, of course it differs from place to place but, do your instructors advices you to use specific softwares for specific products? For example: Z-Brush, Blender, Maya, Max are better for artistic purpose but SW, Rhino, Fusion are better for manufacturing purposes. That's what we've been tought. Partially I agree. Over there, on your behalf, do they told you that too? And what's your opinion. Because you can and have able to design, build and manufacture. So your experince is more than me and most of the ID students/graduates. Does "weapon of choice" effect your works on this channel? Your move of Fusion... if you can get a SW or others that I mentioned, would you use them or stay on Fusion?
I was taught Inventor in high school, Solidworks in university, and use Fusion now because it's free. They're all the exact same. Different UI and other little things for sure, but at the end of the day the tool is only as good as the person using it. Whichever program you choose, just practice a lot! The 3D modeling mindset is more important than the 3d modeling program.
I'm really happy you put school first, smart.
you know i think i am speaking for a lot of us here when i say that I was initially drawn to the channel for the fiero series, but I stayed because of how relatable, and high quality your videos are. The script/editing are such high quality that it truly is impressive how you are able to balance everything. Quality channel/entertainment. Deserves more subs/traffic. I look forward to seeing the fiero finale. Keep it up
Really awesome 👍
So wondering are you are you going to get a job seeing your college is done?
My favourite channels: Ronald Finger Donut Media Really Random Channel Gears and Gasoline Bad Obsession Motorsport Carwow
I'm going to be starting on a 2m4 Fiero that was v6 swapped with a Fiero see v6 by a previous owner, I'm excited but worried it won't be fruitful. I found your channel through the Fiero series, and it's one of the only ones I've found on restoring a Fiero. It's been inspiring to see that you could make something if it. Do you think we could swap notes once I start pulling it apart? And have you checked out The Fiero Store or Pennock's Fiero Forum?
Ronald... I have to say. Cause of you I just bought a Fiero like yours... in Brazil! Those cars are VERY rare down here but I feel so confident to make a good job motivated by your energy and talent. Thank you friend (yes, I consider you a friend of mine). All of the best
Ronnie Finger sounds like a sex practice
Thought you mite like this mnthe.info/bill/video/hteMuILFpI1ne2s
Bad Obsession MotorSport is my number one favorite. Mr. Finger is a favorite too, but only one can be number 1. :-)
We had the same first car!!
Did you just try to sell me on college education? Damn
@Ronald Finger well I'm sold And subscribed.
Only the UH Design program! A college education isn't necessary and isn't right for everyone. I just know that I enjoyed my experience and am grateful for it
Hello Casanova, Bowie and Percy. Lookin cool
Have you taken someone’s comment advice into consideration?
Is editing being troublefull, any new video on the fiero coming?
Hey, did you happen to see this from another Fiero fan? www.thedrive.com/news/33706/flooded-pontiac-fiero-shop-in-michigan-is-giving-away-almost-everything-thats-left
Love bad obsession
More Fiero, more fiero moreeeeee
When can we expect to see the next video? Hopefully it will be soon.
You're an engineer. You should create a CAD program to scale up the current wheel design...maybe a 15- or 16-incher with a wider rim. It might be pricey, but it would be so cool!
Hi. Excellent job so far. When are you do the paint job in your fiero? Are you using your home time due to covid 19 in painting your car?
Hey man, remember “just a couple plates of spaghetti”?
There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t quote that video
When is the last video? Been a great journey
New episode? Coming soon...? Ready to see some amazing content!
Your series has been super entertaining, thanks for consistently keeping the video quality and even making it better. A lot of youtubers don't do that, so it's amazing. My friend is actually in the market for a Fiero at the moment and your series has been a huge help to him.
Just noticed that there was a Fiero museum in Sanford Michigan that was wiped out by the dam burst thing. Flooded fiero everywhere. How tragic.
Is there a new episode soon?! Absolutely hanging for an update

Ronald, check this out a Fiero parts store is giving away parts that were flooded jalopnik.com/fieros-forever-giving-away-tools-and-rare-pontiac-parts-1843729198
Tim evans fiero shop in Michigan flooded bad and he is giving away all of the parts for free
Looks like a bunch of Fieros are gone. mnthe.info/bill/video/aK6cxpi9aahyq4w
just got a 1977 pontiac grand prix
Nice! I’m only familiar with the 90s/00s models, but I just looked that year up. That’s a sweet car 🤙🏻
Bad news. The Fiero Museum apparently was destroyed: www.freep.com/picture-gallery/news/local/michigan/2020/05/21/pontiac-fiero-museum-destroyed-flood/5240300002/?ICID=ref_fark
Ok so I think the absence of the question being addressed, (we all know the one I'm talking about, the metaphorical elephant in the car trunk one), plus his response to the pet peeve question gives us some insight but no real clarity as to if he's the doppleganger. I suppose it all depends on if he was being serious or making a joke. If he was joking, then I imagine it may mean it's the real Ron, (as dopplegangers typically don't get humor). However if he was saying he doesn't have any pets named peeve in earnest, then perhaps he is the doppleganger. So, well we're no closer to an answer. ..... Shit.
This is sad: www.automobilemag.com/news/pontiac-fiero-shop-museum-michigan-flooding-details-photos/

RIP Fieros Forever
Hahaha, recently discovered your videos. Really enjoy your filming and editing style! Can’t wait to see more!
*** ALERT FIERO FANS **** The recent Michigan floods has severely impacted the Fiero's Forever Museum in Sanford, Michigan. The news in Detroit has reported that the actual building has collapsed. muy buen trabajo, vi todos los videos de la restauracion, exito, yo tengo un vocho ;)
So have you done other voice-overs other than Common Motor Collective? Nice job by the way I enjoyed it
Nope, but I did a whole lot more than voice over that video! I helped develop the Shockwave kit. Both the bracket design and all documentation were done by yours truly 🤙🏻
We need more Fieroooooo!
Come on Ronnie get that car painted already!
I do love B is for build and fuzzy dice! But yours and there’s are slightly different and they all scratch a different itch, looking forward to your future videos also!
Your lucky this isn't rick and morty. Because my reality sucks and i would take yours to replace mine. No im not drunk or hi. Thank you very much.
One more thing 2M4. 2 seater. Mid engine 4 cyclinder.
The second gens only crankwalk if you miss the bolt that is under the starter. Also known as the transmission crank walk bolt.
I know this because I took my 95 turbo eclipse and made it a time machine. I went back in time and witnessed it. When you decide to restore. A 95 eclipse or second gen. Do not delete the balance shafts that 4g63 has it. Those balance shafts are what make it a great turbo motor. Do not turbo the 2.5 it will explode. Lol
The Great Depression in the 20's was started by the jesuits. By selling off extreme amounts of stocks and starting a panic. It was done on purpose. I don't care what your college says. Lol. I remember in the 80. A guy had a fiero v6. That was turboed. You need to turbo that 2.5 liter 4 banger. Obviously the v6 had after market turbos. This was in the late 80's
You've said your repairing the car and not restoring it but flip flop back and forth over repairing and and restoring it. Plz don't take that the wrong way, I really think you've done a great job! I would love to see a colour change and possibly painting the rims as well. I understand when you said you want it original and restoring it, but showing other how to do a colour change, maybe even a 2 tone paint scream and rim restoration/paint would be educational and fun to watch. Remember you've said your self its not a restoration so much as a custom repairing and crafting fixes and work arounds for parts and problems that arised during the build!
Did you narrate a video for Common Motor Collective? Sounds exactly like you
you are very presentable and your script is very strong in all of your videos . you rock man
Fonnieringer! 😂😂 ronniefinger?
Ronny you are a laugh riot. And this stuff is pure gold. May the wind always be at your back! Excelsior!
Hi Everyone, here's a fascinating story of a "rear-engine" corvette prototyped by GM in the mid to late 60s! And a truly mind-bending restoration story from Hemmings: www.hemmings.com/stories/2020/05/13/was-chevys-rear-engine-xp-819-really-a-contender-for-the-corvette-badge-or-was-it-something-else-entirely?refer=news&
Что будешь делать с тачкой?
My parents drove one of these cars in the mid-90s i believe it was a 87 model they bought it from my grandma when she decided she wanted a truck instead. my dad told me how once he got 6 people into the car to take them somewhere. unfortunately after a couple of years he burned up the motor by running it out of oil twas a sad day indeed.
Love your videos and project. Great work, Ronnie!
Dude, when is the final Fiero video coming out? I'v loved this video series and can't wait to see the finished version. Well played good sir!
I've always wanted to get back into doing MNthe but I don't want to do it without any kind of decent camera and audio equipment and I need a better place to work on cars. Oh well one day
Sorry one more question, what made you pick the Fiero to restore?
Like how in hell do you even dislike this? This guy is so cool and amazing yet he still gets 117 dislikes, what the actual fuck?
Someone gave me a car magazine at some point in my teens. I LOVED car magazines at that time. In it was a review of the Fiero GT. They seemed to mostly like it, but were pretty underwhelmed by its handling. I've had a soft spot for Fieros since then. I always found them kind of cool, without being unobtainable like the Ferrari Daytona Spyder or the Countach Quattrovalvole. Not even half unobtainable like the Lotus Esprit S1 or the Ferrari 328. Which means following your restoration has been a pleasure!
Hey Ronald, is that your car on Vice Grip Garage’s new video?
I really love your sense of humor. Yeah your production values and your content are good but like BOM, MCM and old-school "Top Gear" it's the humor that sets you apart. Never stop making videos. Cheers!
Vice Grip Garage
Passive voice sounds way better in narration than active IMO.
You mentioned 3D printers, and am interested in how that can help car restoration and even maintenance. Some cars (like 96 Impala SS) I've seen get a lot of home printed replacement parts. Some seem to desperately need them. For example the rear tail lights of the Cadilac XLR sports car are virtually irreplaceable. Some have gone for over $2,500 each, and folks have had XLRs cars totaled out for a minor rear fender bender that broke the tail lights. Given you work in such things, I'ld be interested to see you try something like that. (Print a mold and pour in tinted plastic??). Or maybe a profitable side business for you. ;). Or just a way to replace your Fiero's rear light bar cover. The concept seems like it will get huge in the future? Ild certainly be curious about see that.
Thank you for the awesome entertainment.
Bro I watched all the videos about the car and there awesome I wish I knew about cars like u I’m 14 and my cousin knows so much about cars and every time I go to he’s house to help him on a car I never know what he talks about
Interesting article on Fiero development history. jalopnik.com/this-400-junkyard-pontiac-fiero-was-once-used-at-gms-d-1843206495
For what it's worth, check out Scott on ColdWarMotors on MNthe. He's a bodyshop guy who lives up in Canada and repairs cars on his farm. He's a big fan of older cars and has almost no budget for repairs. He is a real craftsman, making parts from scratch. Here's a handy link to one of his classic car saves: mnthe.info/bill/video/p8lxxILLpKWQq2c
you should check out DerekBaranProductions. great auto channel
Ronnie, the base model 4cyl Fieros, including the '88, had standard issues bushings all around. Only the GT and Formula models had stiffer, "performance" grade bushings. I would keep the turbine wheels, but get the best and widest performance summer tire you can that meets the diameter requirements of tire to keep the gearing ok. Otherwise, with huge tires and wheels, you will run up against flex in the suspension that it wasn't meant to support.
I need a new episode :| I need to know You painted it. I need to know it's done :| I can't move on with my life :| Please...help :|
